STASH: An SBGC Book Reading and Discussion, Virtual

SBGC is thrilled to present a special reading and discussion of STASH, My Life In Hiding with Author Laura Cathcart Robbins. Register here!

Facing divorce, the possibility of a grueling custody battle, and the insistent voice of internalized racism, Laura wonders how much more she can take. Today, with courageous and candid openness, she reveals how she started the long journey towards sobriety, unexpectedly found new love, and dismantled the wall she had built around herself, brick by brick.

Giving Tuesday, November 28th
Step for Recovery SBGC 5K

Join Sober Black Girls Club on Giving Tuesday as we lace up our running (and walking) shoes for this 5K event. In honor of a global movement that counters consumerism and celebrates acts of kindness, we invite you to join us in our mission to uplift and support Black girls, women, femmes and gender expansive folks practicing sobriety, in recovery or considering it. Walk, run, or jog, outdoors or indoors, anytime on Giving Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 for 3.1 miles and reflect on your recovery or wellness journey, or honor someone you love who has experienced or overcome substance misuse or addiction.

To show our appreciation for your participation, we will send you a Spotify playlist curated by Sober Black Girls Club 48 hours before Giving Tuesday. After the event, you’ll receive a certificate and badge as a symbol of your accomplishment and dedication to recovery and wellness.

You are encouraged to wear pink, black, white or SBGC merchandise while completing the 5K. You may purchase merchandise from our storefront here. Please tag Sober Black Girls Club on social media or send all related 5K photos and videos to hello@soberblackgirlsclub.com to be included in our Step for Recovery Hall of Fame Short by Sunday, December 3rd.

All proceeds will be used to support Sober Black Girls Club initiatives and programming.

Chicago AF X SBGC Booze Free Bar Hop, Chicago, Illinois

Join us for the ultimate booze-free bar crawl! Prepare yourself for a festive atmosphere filled with delicious drinks, tasty food, and great company. This event will take place on August 26th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Check in at Bendicion Dry Bar between 3:00 and 5:00 PM to receive your wristband and crawl map.

Gather your friends, family, and alcohol-free enthusiasts and embark on this unforgettable booze-free crawl with Chicago AF and Sober Black Girls Club. First, we are starting the evening at Bendicion Dry Bar with speed friending. Then, we are heading to In Good Spirits to mocktail and chill and ending our night at Eli Tea Bar for some karaoke.
